Carousel Microwave

Is it safe to use a microwave that was sparking after accidentally running it for 10 seconds empty?
My wife accidentaly started the microwave last night with nothing in it – she meant to set the timer. It ran for about 10 seconds and put out a pretty bad sound and smell before my wife hit “stop”. She also said the microwave had been sparking. One of the wheels on the carousel seems to have partially melted and burned.
Is the microwave still safe to use if it is completely cleaned out?
Microwaves when ran empty will cook what ever it can that means if ther is nothing in there to cook it will cooke wires, caster on the carousel. I would have it check out by an apliance tech to make sure all wires and safty cut outs are in good shape. till then it would not be a good Idea to use it may start a fire.
